It is only by laser cutting (rather than stamping or routing) that intricate designs can be made. The edges of laser cut items will also always be darker for the same reason. This is due to the laser process that cuts the substrate by precision burning and there is nothing we can do about this. Intricate designs in smaller sizes and some of the mini shapes will be much darker than other products, particularly when using 2mm MDF. This is not a defect and will not affect the end use of the product as it's on the back. PLEASE NOTE: Laser cutting may leave some sooty residue on the back of MDF pieces although we take steps to minimise this as much as possible - it can be more pronounced the smaller the design. Larger pieces can also be stamped, collaged, crackled and more - see how it's done over at the Design Team Blog ! They are also ideal for gilding, staining and painting. Use inks and crackle glazes to enhance this further without altering the base colour. MDF WOOD (2mm and 3mm) shapes and embellishments need little or no further enhancement if you like the vintage look. Here's more about what we use with some hints and tips:

We don't use fancy packaging or branding, you just pay for the products and we hope you'll enjoy using them. Our products are proudly manufactured in our own UK workshop. Our laser cut MDF wood shapes add the finishing touch without weight or bulk to surfaces, plaques, frames, papercraft projects and more! As these are MDF rather than chipboard, they add a natural finish to your projects and require no or minimal embellishment - but you can still go in with the gilt wax, paints, stains and inks to create endless variations to suit!

Repeat the process to quickly and easily order all the letters and numbers in that font that you need. Delete the character you have just ordered and type in the next letter or number required. To order multiple letters or numbers in the same font, add to basket then click continue shopping. PLEASE NOTE: The choice of measurements is based on height of the letter. Use on door plaques, monograms, frames, book covers, canvasses, papercrafts and more. Olde English font is ideal for vintage and historical themed projects. Olde English font alphabet letters and numbers are laser cut from 2mm MDF and available in 6 sizes - select your choice from the options above.
